Rockgem’s simple Cute Skull Tutorial
What you need:- </u>
To make each little skull you will need the following…
* White oval 2 hole bean shaped toggle
(approx 1 inch across)
* 4mm black beads
* glue
*black acrylic paint & paintbrush
1. Firstly you take your toggle and flip it the wrong way round.
2. Take your beads I usually use 4mm ones as they fit nice into the little holes in the toggles
3. Glue two of the beads in place - these will be the eyes of your little skull
4a. Once the glue is dried its time to add the details
Using black acrylic paint and a fine brush add a couple of small dashes for a nose…
4b. Then add a row of dashes along the bottom of the toggle for teeth
4c. If you want a girly cute skull add some little dashes either side the eyes to look like ‘eyelashes’
5. Customize!
These little skulls can be customized however you want some of the examples I’ve used to give them more character are
* crowns - little crown shapes cut from craft foam
* bows - these work well on the girly skulls - adding a tiny bow made from 3mm wide ribbon
* flowers - tiny craft/card embellishment flowers work well on these too!
EDIT : you can also use small cogs and watch parts to make them slightly steam-punk in look
6. Put them to use!
These little cute skulls are pretty durable and can be used in many little craft projects I’ve mainly used them on hair-sticks, hair clips and pin-badges but I have also added them to Halloween cards rings and used them as scatter table decorations for Halloween parties
EDIT II : a huge, huge, HUGE thankyou to *charligal-stock for suggesting this for a DD and to ^PirateLotus-Stock for featuring it
