Time really does fly...
Last time I posted a journal it was the new year - I feel almost dazed as I try and figure out where the time has gone between that new year and this point in time. :faint: So here goes with a little rambling of things that have been happening... Creative wise I am just about keeping my head above the water, there is a certain peace I find when I am creating and as the struggle with my mental health recently grew worse, it lead to a horrible state of stagnation staring at either the workbench or the screen but unable to put anything onto it, I am hoping I am at a turning point there, now if they can just figure out why I am so exhausted all the time... Re: previous journal, my craft shed got completed and I've partially built a sort of pergola area next to it, it is just taking me so much time to do things because I keep needing to rest. What used to take me maybe a day or two to complete often now takes a week or longer - more than a little frustrating to say the least. :(
It's a New Year
It's 2023, Several greeting cards I received over the festive season wished me all the best and mostly to believe more and that '2023 will be your year Gem' I hope they are right. New Year Eve was a very VERY quiet one for me, my Mom went to bed early, all the reptiles were tucked up in their beds, Winston ( the dog) was curled up on the couch under his blanket, So I opened the back door sat on the step and looked at the stars and fireworks. Midnight came, I sent a few messages, but I did give a quick call to a friend of mine in the USA, It's becoming a tradition of sorts - he jokes about 'damn time traveller' with me being 6 hours ahead - and the joke of 'Did the world end? no Martian Invaders? No Godzilla?' :giggle: clearly I am easily amused. ( for the record there was a 'Godzilla' - My tortoise! ) 'Godzilla' I found the 2nd Jan hard, it was the 6th anniversary of my Nan passing, I think it felt harder this year as because after she passed my aunt initially got the all
Grieving
It's took a while to grasp everything and if I thought things were chaotic before then they are utterly chaotic now. 16th November my Aunt passed away. She wanted to keep fighting for herself, for her sons, for all her family, the mind was willing, but the body just couldn't do it any more. The utter mess of so many things with her care and such makes me livid beyond measure, the lies the utter inadept approach from professionals! urgh! I, like the rest of my family take solace in the fact that she is no longer suffering and no longer in pain and reunited with her beloved parents. A few days before she left us she told us two things, the first, she couldn't wait to see her parents again. That was how we helped her through the fear, she would be 'the favourite' out of all the siblings and be reunited with them first... and she really took comfort in that - joked that my grandmother would be there cleaning the pearly gates waiting. the second, she had a dream, she told us 'where
Chaos as usual...
Well, Where to begin with the absolutely overwhelming series of events happening in my life right about now :faint: The sad news... In theory I was going away at the end of October for a little break up to the Whitby Goth Weekend, the intent was this to be a little break and a little bit of working. market research and the like. This little vacation was cut short by unfortunate family news. An aunt of mine has been very poorly for some time, but we were all informed that this will be her last Christmas. for a time we were unsure if she would make the week, we are taking each day with her as a blessing. in the meantime a lot of sorting and re-arranging and most like my cousin will be moving in with me, and much sorting out, my aunt is discussing her wishes for her inevitable service etc. The good news... Today I received this news - one of my brothers & his partner are now the proud parents of twin boys! I have two new little nephews   can't wait to meet
