• Last Weekend

I took a little trip to Manchester all in all a good weekend managed to miss seeing my brother in his Skyrim Armour he made for the comic con L but did manage to get to a rather epic club night and also had far too much good food and even better cocktails in a bar/restaurant called ‘the alchemist’
So many delicious drinks that smoked, bubbled and changed colours   there was also a moment in the FAB café (another bar) where you saw the 9th and 10th doctors having a conversation with Misty ( from pokemon) and in turn Deadpool getting his groove on with some of the cheesiest dance moves ever to ‘video killed the radio star’

• This week so far…

4 interviews in 3 days and the job hunt is well and truly on!

Interview one…

One of these was horrible  I’ll just copy and paste my fb status on the matter…

Today was a waste of my time. (caution rant ahead) I hauled ass from my house at 7:49am and walked back in at 8:20pm all this in pursuit of work - I get to Brum ready and raring to go at 8:45.. only to wait around until well after 10am. I get told its an 'observation day' in the field and end up off to Burton-on-trent which i had to pay the train fair for and in all likelihood won't be getting back - the day was spent at a mall - no wait out in the fucking sun by a mall ALL DAY resulting in me getting some wonderful sunburn, teamed this however with my observations of the following : on the bench next to where I was 'observing' was a drunk, with his cans of cheap booze, and his going on about living in a hostel, this was followed by him being joined by his buddy who was talking about how he was nearly done for murder but got done for manslaughter... this delightful chap then drops weed all over the floor and cursed and swears a lot... I and the other girl i was observing with (who was lovely!) back away to the next bench along - another of this drunk fellows mates comes along, and starts talking about hookers and screwing one and how he will let his mates 'have a go' - these delightful examples of human beings kept trying to strike up conversation with me - until i hid the other side of the kiosk i was observing... while there one of the lads who was working came round the corner looking sickened and said 'I am never eating gum again, you know that guy round there he just went to the bin picked a piece of gum off it and started to chew it' - i think that fulfulls my gross out quota for the day, only to be told this job i am after would be self-employed and commission based. insult on to injury? throw this in the mix cause of this unprecidented expense of a train ticket to Burton - i lacked cash for lunch - I managed to scrounge enough together for a coffee and a biscuit - yes in this lovely fucking scorching heat!!! when i got back to brum then it was more forms and a cheery message saying 'oh we will call you sometime about 8:30 and let you know how you have done' finally a jaunt back to the train station - on the way i scrounged up enough change for a can of pop. thus far no response so i can assume i didn't get the job - probably good as i would really tell em to shove it - which is horrid i know but right now I am sore and sunburnt and have 2 more interviews lined up for tomorrow but unable to wear most my interview clothes due to this sunburn. - i was told a mall - and assumed INSIDE not outside in the heat ALL DAY!! right rant over.  - I forgot to add I was dive-bombed by pigeons along with all this

The second interview

Managed to get on fine with this one despite having to dress a lot more casual than I usually would for an interview because of the badly sunburnt shoulders but despite a good presentation and group interview and me seeming to impress the interviewer with my responses it turned out that this would be commission based and self employed also - but door to door sales on top of it L but at least this time there were no drunks, pigeons or sunburn!

The third interview

Didn’t happen.
I received a call about it agreed to arrive at 3:00pm on the allotted day, they didn’t email me directions as promised and I received a call saying the position had already been filled.

The fourth interview

This one went well! ( I think)
The manager was a lovely gent who between the interview conversation we had conversations about art and design   here’s hoping for that one.

other job hunting 

I’ve been throwing out CV’s left right and all directions   however I noticed a local supermarket was advertising I followed the online links and headed to their website - all the positions in the local branches were not listed on there, despite external websites advertising them and being assred the vacancies were still available,  today I went to the nearest branch to enquire and possibly hand in a CV.

Me: Hello I was wondering if you could help me - I was informed that your store was potentially looking for new staff - I know it says to apply online but this vacancy is not listed, would it be possible to hand in a CV
Store assistant: no, its all done online we only accept online applications
Me: oh, alright - only I was told by my jobcenter advisor to try dropping a CV into store
Store assistant: well that’s wrong I can’t accept a CV here as we get penalised for accepting them you have to apply online
Me: oh alright I was misinformed but as I cannot apply online could you tell me how to apply please
Store assistant: well you can’t hand in a CV you could try head office
Me: ok thank you - do you have an address for your head office?
Sales assistant: its all on the website just look, I can’t do anything for you here I’ll get penalised

The sales assistant then walks off clearly not having heard a word said about me being unable to access their company website to either apply or obtain an address… somehow I don’t think I will be going back there. Either to apply for anything or to shop.

Handed in a CV at an alternative shop also, one of the staff recognised me as he sold me some skull patterned pumps a month back - though it quite funny I was in formal clothes  having just left an interview

• The Coming Weekend

I’m off camping!
A couple of mine and my boyfriend-shaped-creature’s friends are getting hitched so we’re all invited,
They have hired a field and we’re going camping there will be a wedding , then food with everyone providing something interesting ( We’ve been assigned to bring a kind of snack) then there is the evening as they happy couple know a whole mess of the alternative DJ’s so the stage will be set up DJ’s will play music with it all winding down about midnight to guitar sing alongs and general gothic daftness

I’ve had a few commissions come in from friends  so that will help keep me in part out of mischief

a logo design for a business for Sue
a logo design and artwork piece for Daria
a piece of artwork (large sized) for Andy ( for his brother who is getting married)
  2X contest prizes for the ‘sun sea and sand’ winners - I’ve created one piece and its been uploaded two more to go  miincdesign and audre when you can note me with your choice of a fractal manipulation request!

However I am on the look out for more commission work  I’m a making a few commission slots available at 100 each.
