ok this ones for ~Sheba2cute for coming third in ~Fateless-No-Forevers through another persons eyes contest winners feature found here [link]

the request here was a fractal of a hand holding a rose ( a purple rose) - but as i had already done soemthing like that i decided to play around a little more with the idea and this is the result.

created using parts of 4 fractals that were made in apophysis and assembled together in photoshop

its a little 'unconventional' the way i manipulate and collage fractals together but the results in turn can be quite pretty

i'm considering taking the rose heart motif in this and creating a literature template for stock uses

That sounds awesome.

I agree though, withthe editing fractals and making a collage type thing, but to be honest, if we're not allowed to do that, when did art get so rule based?

well a while back one of my 'edited fractals' got a DD and the entire argument about it was that it wasn't a 'true fractal' so therefore should be in the 'digital art' category

i disagree - the work is more fractal based than work in photoshop so therefore to me it belongs in the fractal category - granted ideally a category for things such as 'fractal manipulations' would be a good idea

and it would save a lot of the 'thats in the wrong category' but perusing the fractal art gallery you find all sorts of little amine drawings little scribbles - photos etc. in there too. so why the complaint about a fractal manipulation being in the fractal category - it bewilders me no end.

Well, it's still a freaking fractal. THat's the point. If it were an image drawn in the style of a fractal, that would be digital art, if it were a photomanip, it's be a photomanip. But it is a compilation of fractals, be it that they were all put together seperately, who cares. They were all rendered and created as fractals, you didn't draw them or make them in other ways. Therefore, they're fractals. XD

thats my main point! but for so many its not good enough for some people
maybe its simply because its thinking some outside the box.
if i've taken a fractal and done a lot of alterations with it in photoshop i woudl put it in digital art - which is understandable and i have done so before but if the work is still mainly fractal then in fractal art it goes!

Sorry, but in my eyes, Art is art.. Unless it's Fanart... >.>...... LOL.

I mean, someoen with artistic talents and taste, should be able to edit and rearrange other forms of their own art, without beign ridiculed on it...

well the ideas is that i tried something what i considered 'different' mainly because i was still ( and still am) getting to grips with using apophysis

some complaints are maybe envy but i don't see why the need to be like that others its very much thinking with inside the usual restrictions.
teh whole reason i have added a 'fractal images stock' section to my gallery is to upload some of the basic shapes that i do use that people have commented on so in turn if they wish to try soemthing similar they can do.
basically because i create from random batches and don't always knwo 100% what i did to get results i do

its all very trial and error

likewise i apply my fractals to other forms including avatars ( that i make free for anyone to use as a sort of avatar bank thing) and on literature templates
that again is perhaps a form of 'cheating' as its not making anything 'new' but recycling the old.

but obviously what i do with my own images is not my business at times lol!

p.s fan art can be good from time to time but for a good proportion of it - its just really very very worrying...
