image is a photo of mine with the colour faded out apart from the the lips - and as with a lot of my art there is a heart - and its only apt for valentines - in this isntance a sugar one on my lips(yes they are mine!) lol - was notoriously tricky to do this as on instinct you automatically wanna lick your lips :giggle:
i did try it with sugar but found it gave a less distinct shape so i used slightly finer caster sugar for this picture

this has also been entered for the competition featured in an article here [link]

and also featured in quite a lot of other news articles and journals here and there so thankyou to everyone who did feature this picture :heart:

Is the sugar manipulated or was it in the original photo? If so, it all the more reason to adore this picture. +fav.

lol no the sugar was not manipulated in the image i put it there and took the picture - hence me commenting that it was tricky to do this cause automatically i wanted to lick my lips - lol and did afew times thus having to start over lol - but essentially i made a quick stencil out of paper then used that to get the heart shape i wanted when i pressed my lips into the sugar lol thankyou so much for the fave on this one :heart: and if ya like hearts in artwork check out some of my other stuff lol hearts sneak in most all of it :giggle:

lol it was a bit liek trying to eat a sugar donut without licking your lips lol its near impossible lol - i was tempted to put on red lipstick for this one but it just seemd too bolder a statment i wanted subtle colours so i went with the pink and faded out the flesh tones round the lips with photoshop to make that pinkness stand out a lot more - i'm really surprised in myself how well this worked out as well - and thankyou again for looking at my other works

I agree, red would have been way too bold. Since you were going for sweet, the colors you chose certainly convey that.

well pink is very much a candy feminine colour to say the least ( slightly stereotypical there i know) but for this it works the red works well for some but for this it would really have over poered it hence the option of the pink - though i did try out a lilac colour as well i gues sthe colour ideas was very much sugared almonds and the like :giggle: those nice pastel shades
