thankyou - and hopefully its useful - i've used a similar texture i have lurking on here in backgrounds of my fractals before now - this one is more a close up of a pattern so i'm certainly going to be dabbling with it in the immediate future if time allows

 chances are it will sneak into a background - 99% of the time i use my own stock in my work its very rare i use anyone elses but when i work i really wish i kept a better track of the textures i use, especially in my most recent works :faint:

well, I'll keep my eyes open for it. and I know what you mean, the last thing I do is use stock from someone else... only if its the only way :)

i think i have done it once or twice, but once i used an image as reference and i couldn't find the link to the stock - i posted the work and promptly went to dig up the stock - in that few mins gap someone promptly ranted at meand said some quit unplesant things - least of all i was an art thief for not crediting properly - despite the comments saying 'stock used' and then after it ( pending cause i can't find the link!it will be updated soon!)and you can see on a piece of art here how long it has been since the work was submitted so yes i was very unimpressed by the sudden jumping down my throat - this was some years back and after that i vowed if i want stock i make it myself

yeah that's always best... I've done two pieces that I used someone else stock for, but both times I was careful to record everything in notepad before I even downloaded the stock, so I would be sure to be able to credit... and still, I try everything I can to avoid using stock from here... its basically "last ditch effort" where I really want to do something special, and can't find any other way to do what I want.

And yeah, some people here seem to be looking for things to complain about...

 and usually people who do the most complaining are the ones usually guilty of what they complain about in the first place :faint:
