DemolitionI can feel the cracks in my soul,
The water of tears ran into my spirit--
Along with my heart.
Forcing those small fractures wide;
Inwardly I’ll just tumble down,
The breakages don’t show on the outside yet--
When the emotional bulldozers are done,
We shall see if anything is worth rebuilding.
PaleI’d be a fool to follow and to fall;
Your toxic love bad for both of us--
(or perhaps just for me.)
You had a zombie complexion,
With the ghosts of freckles
Scattered across porcelain cheeks.
Vampire elegance and banshee wild hair,
You moved sinuously with wraith-like steps
And beckoned with a siren voice.
With breaking heart and iron will
I walked away for good.
Food for the worms--
Regret just another coffin nail.
Butterfly...You wore butterflies.
On your fingers…
In your hair…
They fell fluttering from your lips in laughter,
Flowers in your cheeks
And fireflies in your eyes.
Elegant and almost untouchable;
A walking dream,
Like lacewings and mayflies.
You near convince me the fey-folk are real,
As your butterflies crawl into my stomach--
Deep into my chest with trembling wings.
This knight finally laid down arms
And lost the battle for a heart.
