SociopathGauge the reactions;
Beg for--or steal the emotions you lack,
But love to observe in others.
No longer silent, you attempt gregariousness,
Falseness still plagues you, as you mimic and play the part,
But what you copy so carefully never reaches your eyes
Or the coldness behind them.
BuilderYou built your towers;
The architect of your own fantasies,
Your foundations built upon my shoulders
The designs growing grander
Sculpted from grotesque surrealism,
Still you piled the bricks and mortar
Upon my cracking back and breaking spine.
Unable to support your own wants
You heap them upon me,
Bowing down my head beneath your growing pressure,
Something I once tried to build a buried ruin
I see fragments of it in your mocking distortions
And find myself unable
To support you further.
TimekeepingUsually you are late.
The time ticks...
-And without an apology you saunter in callously.
Now, the lights burn lower
The tea long grown cold.
The words and the pages flick beneath fingers,
Although the text became meaningless
Quite a while-- no make that quite some time ago,
I have no heart to re-read.
In the reflection of what ought have been a togetherness
With friends and acquaintances,
You’re beyond late.
You had a date with an afterthought.
--truth be told
I figured it was only a matter of time
Before this actually happened
And you forgot to show at all.
Late in the yearNovember crept into my bones;
The year moving into its old age
As the trees burned,
Their dancing-flame-leaves scattering into the winds,
The promises of thick frost and darkened skies at dawn
Dusk once more falling far to early.
The veiled moon pale and grown fat,
Clouds obscuring the stars to wish on.
DialectThe words that I was taught to speak with disgust you
A harsh accent
My local dialect-- instead of being a quirk
Found to be an offence
You see my speech as coarse
I find it as comforting as close family,
My familiar turns of phrase
Falling from the lips of relatives
Those words (in some cases)
All that I have left of them.
I embrace my heritage
Or what little of it remains
As we move into the modern age,
But you roll your eyes as I state simply
‘Yow cor spake proper.’
PetalsThe grass tickled between her toes as her father toiled away with the roses by the letterbox. She watched his fingers weave between the thorns to pat the soil around each bush, humming to some John Lennon song she couldn't put a name to. Despite the sun just tipping the horizon, she saw sweat prickling his brow and his eyes squinting against the light. The fine lines on his face were suddenly accentuated by shadow, and for a moment, she swelled with wonder.
'Maria, come here,' he said, waving her over. 'You're not going to learn anything sitting all the way over there.'
Excitement sparked her limbs into motion, and she crawled over to sit next to him, careful to tuck her skirt beneath her thighs to avoid the dirt.
He picked up a pair of clippers from beside him. 'Now, you need to snipe back these diseased parts here and there from the base of the plant. It helps it grow better.'
Snipping off two pieces of wood with ease, he deposited them in Maria's outstretched hand. Their rough textu

^Nyx-Valentine arrived in our community and started whipping everyone into a frenzy with her relentless desire to bring the Artistic Nude and Fetish galleries to the fore. 9 years later, and it's safe to say that Nyx is not only a leader as a photographer in these galleries, but she has also established herself as a much saught after model. ^...
